At the Complementary Health Centre here in Lee we have multiple experienced osteopaths. As well as treating all the conditions below, they all have their own interests and specialisms.
Osteopathy is a unique system of diagnosis and treatment that focuses on the structural integrity of the whole body.
“When your body, mind, and nervous system work in harmony, everything runs more efficiently—with less strain, wear, and wasted energy—potentially easing pain, reducing disability, and fostering an overall sense of well-being.
In addition to the treatment, we aim to help each patient understand his/her problem, appreciate why it has occurred and provide them with strategies to speed recovery and help prevent further episodes occurring. These might include exercises, advice on posture, correct breathing, relaxation, positioning at work stations or dietary changes.
Osteopathy is widely recognised for its success in treating patients with low back pain,
but may also be effective for patients with a variety of other symptoms/conditions, such as:
Chronic pain isn’t always just about the body. For many people, ongoing pain and other long-lasting symptoms are influenced by how the brain and nervous system have learned to protect us. SIRPA (Stress Illness Recovery Practitioners Association) Mindbody Osteopathy combines hands-on osteopathic care with proven mindbody approaches.
Instead of focusing only on structural issues, we help you understand how stress, emotions, past experiences, and nervous system patterns can amplify pain and keep the cycle going. Through education, gentle movement, and strategies to calm and re-train the nervous & pain belief system, we aim to reduce fear, improve resilience, stress capacity, and help you return to a fuller life.
This approach does not dismiss your pain as “all in your head.” Your symptoms are real — and so is your potential to recover when we address both physical and mindbody factors together

Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment to encourage the release of tension in the body. This is accomplished by the application of gentle pressure to the head and body and it is suitable for people of all ages, including babies and children. This approach can also be used when treating joint and back pain resulting from postural changes and softening ligaments associated with pregnancy.
Cranial Osteopathy is a safe and gentle treatment suitable for children and babies. Such gentle manipulation could help soothe and relax babies and is often recommended after birth.

Do you feel you’re going round and round in circles?
Are you overwhelmed with how you feel?
Talking things over with an understanding, trained Counsellor, Coach or Psychotherapist will support you to clarify your thoughts and feelings, make decisions and if necessary make major changes in your life. Our aim is to offer you a safe, confidential space and an opportunity to work towards living in a more satisfying way.
Sometimes we all need space to talk and be heard without judgement. Counselling offers a safe, confidential setting to explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, or a specific issue you're facing. A qualified counsellor listens with care and acceptance, helping you gain clarity and supporting you through life’s challenges. Counselling can bring relief and provide practical tools for coping and decision-making. Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly. Counselling is often a shorter-term process focused on particular concerns.
Dramatherapy is a form of creative psychotherapy that uses drama, role play, movement, storytelling and imagination to help people explore and express emotions safely. You don’t need any acting skills – it’s not about performing, but about using creative methods to process experiences and find new perspectives.
By stepping into a story or role, people often discover safe ways to explore difficult feelings, build confidence, and develop coping strategies. Dramatherapy can support emotional healing, improve communication, and increase self-awareness. It’s used with children, teens and adults, helping with issues like anxiety, trauma, bereavement, or simply feeling “stuck” in life.
Hand therapy is a specialised area of occupational therapy that focuses on assessing and supporting people with conditions affecting the hands, wrists, and forearms. It combines knowledge of anatomy, function, and rehabilitation to help restore movement, strength, and everyday use. Hand therapy may be useful following injury, surgery, or conditions such as arthritis, tendon or nerve problems, or repetitive strain. The goal is to improve comfort and function so you can get back to daily activities with greater ease.
Good foot health is something we know is very important and at The Complementary Health Centre we have a long-established podiatry clinic.
Healthy feet are especially important for people with other health problems such as diabetes, poor circulation or rheumatism. These problems can make self-treatment, even cutting your own nails, difficult. You do not need a doctor’s referral to see a podiatrist.
Most people have foot problems at some time in their lives, and many of these can be helped by chiropody / podiatry treatment.
All Chiropody / Podiatry professionals at the Complementary Health Centre are registered
with the Health and Care Professions Council (H.C.P.C.).
Do you have more questions related to Podiatry? Give our Reception Team a call and they will be able to advise you
