This October we will be raising awareness about Arthritis, with Health Information and Promotion of Complementary Therapies for it.
We are in support of Arthritis Research UK, their Nation’s #JointProblem Campaign and National Arthritis Awareness week. Arthritis affects the lives of over 10 million people in the UK, and is the biggest cause of pain and disability. It impacts every part of life from physical function to mental health, family life and relationships to work.
Despite this, the condition is often dismissed as simple aches and pains or an inevitable part of getting older. 1 in 5 people consult a GP about a musculoskeletal problem.
Arthritis Research UK has a whole section dedicated to Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Therapies most of which we offer at the Complementary Health Centre, and more.
Throughout October we will help you understand more about:
* Arthritis and ways to reduce its impact including self-management approaches
* Complementary Health Therapies and wellbeing exercises in easing and treating your, your family or friends’ arthritis or joint problems
* Offer 10 -20% OFF our range of Complementary Therapies for anyone coming to CHC for first-time Arthritis/ joint care in October.
Watch Arthritis Research UK’s National Joint Problem video for more information.

Autumn can affect people emotionally as well as physically. People are much more likely to start to get colds and flu, many people have allergies at this time of the year often due to fungus on trees and plants, and many people start to feel low emotionally due to the darker days and the feeling of the year dying out. S.A.D – Seasonal Affected Disorder is common at this time of year.
Interestingly, there are many Homeopathic Remedies that can help you at this time. You can read more from a great article by one of our Homeopaths Maureen Chapple HERE

Studies have found that regular infant massage can improve the quality of interactions between mothers and their babies and reduce the incidence of postnatal depression.
Possible reasons for this include:
💜Massage increases the production of the hormone oxytocin, which as well as being important for bonding between parents and their babies, also induces feelings of calmness and relaxation in both mother and baby
💜Baby massage can help parents learn and respond to their baby’s cues even more effectively, which helps to build confidence
💜Baby massage can sometimes help improve infant sleep, which in turn has a positive impact on parents
💜Joining a baby massage group provides opportunities for parents to socialise and can reduce feelings of isolation
💜Baby massage group classes include opportunities for discussion between parents and a chance to share experiences in a non-judgemental environment.
If you are a new mum experiencing difficulties with low mood or anxiety, please reach out to your GP, midwife or health visitor for support. You can also contact the PANDAS Foundation free helpline for support on 0808 1961 776 (7 days a week, 11am- 10pm)

What does that mean and how is it relevant to you?
Mental Health is the same as Physical Health in many ways; we can be well or unwell. However, being unwell mentally (or emotionally) is not always obvious and sometimes something we’re not comfortable talking about. We just accept that life is hard and everyone is in the same boat.
Here is an article by one of our hypnotherapists Antonios Koletsas about anxiety and how hypnotherapy can help you:
Anxiety
Anxiety is a common mental health condition that affects millions of people around the world. It is characterized by feelings of unease, worry, and fear, often accompanied by physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling, and palpitations. While it is normal to experience anxiety from time to time, it can become a chronic and debilitating condition that interferes with daily life.
Fortunately, there are many effective treatments available for anxiety, and one of the most promising is hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy is a type of complementary therapy that uses hypnosis to induce a state of deep relaxation and heightened suggestibility. This state can help individuals overcome a wide range of mental and physical issues, including anxiety.
So how exactly can hypnotherapy help with anxiety? Let’s explore some of the key ways:
Overall, hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for managing anxiety and improving mental health. While it may not be a suitable treatment for everyone, it is worth considering for those who are open to complementary therapies and looking for a non-invasive and natural approach to anxiety management. If you are struggling with anxiety, speak to a qualified hypnotherapist to learn more about how hypnotherapy can help you overcome your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
If you’d like to see whether hypnotherapy would suit you click here.
A time for renewal and new energy. Much needed this year!
