About me

About Me

I’m Priya, an NHS-trained psychotherapeutic counsellor and Reiki practitioner. I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can explore what is happening in your life without judgement and at a pace that feels right for you.

I understand from personal experience that reaching out for support can feel daunting. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong, why you feel the way you do, or what you want to change. We can begin wherever you are.

How I Work

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw from several therapeutic approaches rather than expecting every person to fit one particular model. My work incorporates:

• Humanistic therapy
• Psychodynamic therapy
• Cognitive approaches
• Existential therapy

Our 50-minute counselling sessions are client-led, with your individual needs and experiences at the centre of our work. Together, we can explore what is troubling you, understand patterns and experiences that may be affecting you now, and consider what might help you move forward.

Where appropriate, I can also draw on techniques from my background in yoga and Reiki, including:

• Breathwork
• Mindfulness
• Guided visualisation
• Free drawing and creative exploration
• Somatic approaches and awareness of what you experience in your body

Because I work relationally, we may also explore what emerges within the therapeutic relationship itself and what this can tell us about patterns or experiences elsewhere in your life.

Alongside counselling, I offer 90-minute sessions combining counselling with Reiki for clients who would like to incorporate both talking therapy and complementary wellbeing support.

What I Can Support You With

I have extensive experience working with adults across a broad range of experiences and difficulties, including:

• Relationship difficulties
• Bereavement, grief and loss
• Unemployment and major life changes
• Addiction
• Sexual abuse
• Domestic and emotional abuse
• Trauma and PTSD
• Bullying
• Intergenerational trauma
• Racism and colourism
• Anti-LGBTQIA+ prejudice
• Suicidal thoughts and emotional crisis
• Spirituality and existential questions

I have also volunteered with The Listening Place, supporting people experiencing suicidal thoughts.

Qualifications & Professional Memberships

I hold a Level 6 Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Inter-Psyche and am a registered member of:

• British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP)
• Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN)
• UK Reiki Federation (UKRF)
• Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

An Inclusive Space

Having lived in several countries, I am comfortable working with people from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds and identities. I welcome clients of all identities and have a particular commitment to providing an affirming space for LGBTQIA+ clients.

Alongside English, I have a solid comprehension of French, Brazilian Portuguese and German.

Above all, my aim is to create a therapeutic relationship in which you feel genuinely heard and able to explore all parts of yourself — including the things that may have felt difficult to express elsewhere.
