Julian has practised Chinese Martial Arts and its associated therapies for over 10 years with The Taoist Arts Organisation.
From his experience in the fighting arts and associated injuries he knows that gentle techniques often work better than therapies that force the body into a position as it allows the body and brain to fully integrate what it is being asked to do. The Tui Na techniques he uses work on soft tissue, muscles and joints in a fully integrated way. They may involve joint manipulation to open the joints, acupressure or the use of cloths and dowels to get the body moving effectively.
Well-known for its effectiveness in treating musculo-skeletal conditions such as arthritis, sciatica, sports related injuries and chronic pain, Tui Na may also be effective for other problems such as headaches, sleep difficulties, and stress amongst others. It can also be effective in maintaining and enhancing flexibility and mobility, and promoting health and wellbeing.
Tui Na Treatments are carried out over loose clothing and there is no requirement to undress although some techniques may be applied directly to the skin.
Renée is trained in the Li-Style Tui Na practice and has over 10 years of training and practice.
Although Tui Na is relatively unknown in the West, in China it is regarded as one of the main branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine alongside Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Qi Gong therapy.
Tui Na massage is performed through clothing or directly on the skin, using various lifting, stretching, stroking, pushing and grasping massage techniques. These are accompanied by acupressure and joint manipulation resulting in a relaxing and powerfully energising treatment.
Renee is particularly interested in treating athletes as well as those with specific musculoskeletal problems as well as for general wellbeing.
Your treatment will include a full holistic health assessment including assessing your movement, posture and alignment along with your lifestyle and goals. You will receive after treatment care which will include health and lifestyle advice and may include an exercise or Qigong prescription.
